Nollywood actress, Belinda Effah has announced the change of her name to Grace Charis Bassey Effah during a press  briefing held recently to unveil her new name and brand, adding that t he reason behind her name change was that she had a divine encounter with God. According to her; "I had to change my name and the only thing that can make me change my name will be the most supreme being which is God. A lot of people will not understand that. So I don't bother to explain to people when they ask me why,"   she said. "A couple of years ago I wanted to change my name when I found out that I could not really grasp the meaning of my name. Some people said it meant 'beauty' some other people said it meant 'beautiful serpent'. "So I was cut in between not knowing what the right meaning is. Linda seemed to have diverse meaning and I wasn't quite comfortable with that. Also with the fact that Belinda was not the first name that my parents gave to me. M

     Reacting to the rape allegation levelled against Nollywood actor, Baba Ijesha, Chairman of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission,   Abike Dabiri-Erewa  has  described the act as despicable and says maximum sentence must be passed on him, in a post she shared on twitter, adding  that the actor's plea in the trending video should not be accepted. “So despicable! The act by Yoruba actor, Baba Ijesha who defied a girl, at 7 and later at 14 years!! Who knows how many the paedophile could have damaged if he was not caught. I sponsored the violence against person’s law. The penalty is nothing less than 14 years in prison. “His plea bargain on some video I watched should not be acceptable. We should all do all we can to support the girl’s foster mother, Princess, to ensure this case goes to court, fully tried and maximum sentence passed on him.”; she tweeted.

 Veteran Nollywood actress, Kate Henshaw has reacted after a man criticized her fitness routine and trolled her for lifting weights. The troll who didn't agree with her had insinuated that  there would be hunger in the land if all women continued to lift weights. He tweeted; “Do you really do anything else apart from lifting weights? If every female or whatever is like you, there will be hunger in the house be careful. Men are scared of action ladies.”  Kate however did not let it slide as she responded by saying he was a weak man for his statement and that her health had nothing to do with causing hunger. "Weak men abi?? Should I add you to the list??. So lifting weights is the exclusive preserve of men? In what alternate universe do you reside?? Hunger in the house because I choose to look after my health?? Smh" She responded .

     Following her first video, Princess revealed that the reason she exposed Baba Ijesha was because the victim has been psychologically and academically unstable ever since the damage was done to her. She was also summoned by the girl's school because or her poor performance as it declined tragically.      Princess also added that they sought spiritual help and they prayed over the girl but there was no changes which triggered her motherly instincts to believe the girl's problem was not spiritual. However, her opinion was discarded and she was labelled as being too insisting and paranoid until the girl finally opened up.

     Nigerian comedian, Princess Damilola Adekoya simply known as Princess broke down in tears as she    narrated how Baba Ijesha defiled the young girl in her custody when she was 7. In the video she shared on her Intagram page, the comedian disclosed how some parents allowed their kids stay with her following the crash of her marriage to  avoid being lonely.     She stated that she was assisting the actor when he defiled the girl during one of his visits, adding that the defilement harmed the girl as she declined academically and otherwise.        According to her, the actor warned the girl not to tell anyone as she did not open up until after seven years to Princess and another person.  "I have read and heard a lot over the last few days.      Nollywood actress, Adunni Ade has revealed how she was blacklisted from the Nollywood English Industry after her AMVCA nomination in 2017. She made this known i n an interview with Chude Jideonwu recently, adding that her career took a downturn following the nomination and how she struggled with depression. She said;  "I feel, I might be wrong, that I was outcasted out of the English [industry] I won't say 100 percent," "But I have had jobs taken away from me, colleagues who have now become big names yank my name off or make lies to producers and EPs on reasons why they should not give me a job. "Deals, endorsements have been yanked off my feet because they don't know me or they don't like me or I am not their person because they would rather put someone that they are cool with who would give them a cut than me who truly deserves it."

     Nollywood actress, Iyabo Ojo has slammed her colleagues in the industry for trying to defend actor, Baba Ijesha for allegedly defiling a 7 year old girl. Popular actor and producer, Yomi Fabiyi  had earlier warned his colleagues to desist from condemning Baba Ijesha as he compares the case to that of Baba Suwe  who was arrested for having illegal drugs in his possession but later found innocent of the crime.     The Nollywood veteran took to her Instagram page on  Sunday, April 25, 2021 to warn her colleagues to desist from from defending the alleged pedophile. She  also admonished her colleagues and everybody to stop asking for the CCTV footage where Baba Ijesha was caught molesting the little girl because she is a minor. She said;  "We all heard what happened to Baba Ijesha and the rape issue and since yesterday, I have been seeing a lot of people posting his pictures, with some saying he was framed and others saying we should wait...I just want to beg my colleagues, please

     Nollywood actor, Olanrewaju Omiyinka James popularly known as Baba Ijesha has been arrested by the Lagos State Police Command for defiling a 14 year old girl with report s that the actor has been sexually assaulting the victim since she was 7 years old.    It was gathered that the victim’s mother, who suspected that her daughter was being sexually abused, installed the CCTV to uncover the perpetrator. She  monitored the situation in her home on her phone and she saw Baba Ijesha conducting himself in a suspicious manner around her daughter.    It was reported that the actor  took the victim away from the sitting room into the kitchen, with no CCTV camera installed, and the mother, who rushed back home caught Omiyinka defiling her daughter in the kitchen.  In a statement released via its Twitter handle on Thursday, April 22, 2021,  The police command  said the actor was arrested for defiling a 14-year-old girl.
