SHOCK AS ACTOR, BABA IJESHA IS ARRESTED FOR DEFILING 7 YEAR OLD MINOR

    Nollywood actor, Olanrewaju Omiyinka James popularly known as Baba Ijesha has been arrested by the Lagos State Police Command for defiling a 14 year old girl with reports that the actor has been sexually assaulting the victim since she was 7 years old.

   It was gathered that the victim’s mother, who suspected that her daughter was being sexually abused, installed the CCTV to uncover the perpetrator. She monitored the situation in her home on her phone and she saw Baba Ijesha conducting himself in a suspicious manner around her daughter.

   It was reported that the actor took the victim away from the sitting room into the kitchen, with no CCTV camera installed, and the mother, who rushed back home caught Omiyinka defiling her daughter in the kitchen.

 In a statement released via its Twitter handle on Thursday, April 22, 2021, The police command said the actor was arrested for defiling a 14-year-old girl.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi, said Omiyinka confessed to the crime, adding that the case had been transferred to the Gender Unit of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, Panti, Yaba, for proper investigation.

According to Adejobi, “The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a popular Nollywood actor, Olarenwaju James (Omiyinka), aka Baba Ijesha, 48, for defiling a minor.

The case of defilement was reported on April 19, 2021, by one Princess Adekola Adekanya at the Sabo Police Station and was transferred to the Gender Unit of the SCIID, Panti, Yaba, for proper investigation.

Based on preliminary findings, the suspect started sexually assaulting the victim, 14, since she was seven-year-old. The suspect confessed to the crime and was also captured by a CCTV camera in the house of the victim’s mother.

The state Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu, has ordered proper investigation as he promised to do justice in the matter.”
