BURNA BOY'S ALBUM "AFRICAN GIANT" GETS GRAMMY NOMINATION
Nominations for the 62nd Grammy Awards has been released and the self acclaimed African Giant, Damini Ogulu, also known as Burna Boy has been nominated in the Best World Album category for his album "African Giant".
The award which will be hosted by Alicia Keys is set to take place in January 26, 2020. Other nominees include Lizzo with eight nominations, followed by Billie Eilish and Lil Nas X with six nominations.
Burna Boy was nominated in the category alongside Altin Gün for Gece, Bokanté & Metropole Orkest Conducted By Jules Buckley for What Heat, Nathalie Joachim With Spektral Quartet for Fanm D'Ayiti and Angelique Kidjo for Celia.
Past Nigerian Grammy nominees are Seun Kuti, Femi Kuti and King Sunny Ade. Others include Babatune Olatunji, Wizkid, Timaya and Kah Lo. Sikiru Adepoju is the only Nigerian to win a Grammy award.
