Nigerian Singer, Oluwajuwonlo James, popularly known as Jaywon  has expressed his opinion on the prevalence of gay in Nigeria and he is blaming hunger and poverty for the immoral sexual act. While some people claim they are naturally born gay, others claim to be gay in order to gain certain benefits. Jaywon took to his Instastory to share his opinion on gay people and the singer who accepted the possibility of some people being born gay, stated that some people are only gay as a result of poverty and hunger.

Self acclaimed Nigerian male barbie, Okuneye Idris Olanrewaju, also known as Bobrisky has responded to threats issued against him by the Director-General of the National Council for Arts and Culture, Otunba Olusegun Runsewe. The couple are expecting their first child together and an introduction ceremony is billed to hold at Bam Bam's father's house on Friday, August 30, 2019. Although a few weeks ago, Bam Bam's engagement to Teddy A was announced by the couple on social media, they are yet to release any official statement about the pregnancy or the engagement ceremony.

Nigerian music star, Paul Okoye, also known as Rudeboy or KingRudy has described the Nigerian Police force as a "bunch of illiterate fools". He made this known via his Instagram page on Tuesday, August 27, 2019. He said the Nigerian Police Force is bringing a lot of shame to the country while a lot of citizens are trying to make the country proud. Big Brother Naija 2019 evicted housemate, Gedoni has denied having sex with the new head of house, Khafi before the live eviction show on Sunday where he was evicted alongside fellow housemate, Jackye. Although Gedoni denied the sex romp with Khafi, the duo were caught making love under the sheets while other housemates were sleeping and this is not the first time they were caught having sex in the house, having been seen on several occasions in the past, making love in the house. there are mixed reactions concerning their relationship, including some Nigerian celebs who felt Gedoni was distracting Khafi from the game. The International Committee of the All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA) has released the final nomination list for the 6th AFRIMA Continental awards on Sunday, August 25, 2019. The ist comprises the 26 Continental Award Categories which cut across Hip-Hop, Jazz, R'n'B, Pop, Reggae, Ragga and Dancehall.
