EFCC FILES 11-COUNT CHARGES AGAINST NAIRA MARLEY AS DADDY SHOWKEY PLEADS ON HIS BEHALF

"Issa Goal" crooner, Azeez Fashola popularly known as Naira Marley risks 7 years in jail as the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has filed an eleven count charges bordering on credit card fraud against the "Am I A Yahoo Boy Singer".

He risks going to jail if found guilty according to Section 33 (2) which he was accused of breaching, reads: “Any person who uses: a counterfeit access device; an unauthorised access device; an access device issued to another person; resulting in a loss or gain commits an offence and shall be liable on conviction to imprisonment for a term of not more than seven years or a fine of not more than N5,000,000.00 and forfeiture of the advantage or value derived from his act.

Naira Marley will be arraigned on Monday, May 20, 2019 with suit number FHC/L/178C/19 before a Lagos State High Court.                                                                                                                                                                        

However, veteran Nigerian dancehall singer, John Asiemo, also known as Daddy Showkey, has pleaded with the EFCC to temper justice with mercy and release the music artist.

He made this plea via a video on his Instagram handle saying
 “A lot of una dey call me because of Naira Marley, una dey say I nor wan put mouth for Naira Marley matter. “ Me, I nor go put my mouth for where small pikin dey insult em elders and some people dey try to make the elder look stupid when he dey talk the truth.
But I go only talk say pikin no go bad, we go say make dem kill am. We go find a way to save am… “Me, I go beg the EFCC make dem temper justice with mercy make dem look around way to go about this investigation because this young man just dey grow.
“Make em take this one to learn the lesson, make em know as he go put em mouth for word, maybe nah the tin wey hin dey smoke dey worry hin head’’ he said.

He also captions; “Temper justice with mercy. This is just a young man growing up.let’s not use his mistakes to spoil his career we all went through so many things growing up…. “We can use him as a spokesman to young people against crime @officialefcc may be he will learn with this #showdonsho,’
